An adult drives some fat kid (Spencer) to McDonald's and videotapes him while he steals a bag of french fries from the drive-thru window. Wouldn't this be considered contribution to the delinquency of a minor. Apparently it's not the first "stunt" that this guy has helped Spencer do. It ends with a satisfied Spencer shoving a handful of food in his mouth as he says, "These fries are worth it."

Let me just start out by saying Jeff Corwin, the wildlife biologist who is part of our "Planet in Peril" series, is ok. But there were a few moments earlier today when I wasn't so sure. You'll see the video tonight, but basically, an elephant grabbed hold of Jeff's arm with his mouth and tossed him like a ragdoll. Jeff had warned me that while elephants can be very playful, they don't know their own strength. He was certainly right about that.
Here's what happened: We were helping some handlers bathe the elephants at Cambodia's Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center, when one of the elephants slowly got hold of Jeff's arm. I say slowly, but it also happened really fast. I know it's a contradiction, but once you see the video, you'll understand.
We thought Jeff's arm was broken at first, but once we were out of the water it became clear that it had just been badly twisted and was deeply bruised. Jeff was able to continue working, which I found kind of amazing, and afterwards we stopped off at a clinic so a doctor could check out his arm. It's now in a sling.

Chicago Cop Punches Female Bartender Who Wouldn't Serve Him

A bar beating caught on tape lands a Chicago police officer behind bars. He is accused of throwing the punches -- brutally attacking the much-smaller bartender -- after she refused to serve him alcohol last month.
Anthony Abbate was clearly behaving badly even before he attacked the 25-year-old bartender. Security video shows the 38-year-old off-duty police officer throwing down the petite woman and beating her repeatedly.
"He came behind the bar and beat a sweet, 5-foot-3, 120 pound woman senseless by throwing her around like she was a sack of potatoes, kicking her, and punching her repeatedly when she was drunk," the victim's attorney Terry Ekl said.
Abbate appeared in court Wednesday to answer what were previously misdemeanor battery charges and are now felony charges, which involve the state's attorney's office.

Knut--The Polar Bear Cub That Animal Activists Want Killed

We normally hear animal activists whining about saving every living thing from brine shrimp to lions. So it caught our attention when we came across the video of the baby polar bear they came out wanting to kill it. The cub in question is named Knut, a polar bear abandoned by his mother at the Berlin Zoo (I just went out to get a pack of smokes, I swear!). So zookeepers decided to feed him by hand. Here is what some activists had to say, thanks to MSNBC.com:

BERLIN - Berlin Zoo's abandoned polar bear cub Knut looks cute, cuddly and has become a front-page media darling, but an animal rights activist insists it was wrong to intervene and save the cub.

"Feeding by hand is not species-appropriate but a gross violation of animal protection laws," animal rights activist Frank Albrecht was quoted as saying by the mass-circulation Bild daily, which has featured regular photo spreads tracking fuzzy Knut's frolicking.

"The zoo must kill the bear."

Security got to him before he could whale on Frankie, but he did get on the pitch. A Chelsea fan got on the field, too, in hopes of thwarting the idiot Tottenham fan, I suppose. Both idiots were detained by security. No one was hurt.

It's getting ugly . . . and early in the 2008 Presidential Campaign. Remember Apple's 1984 commercial against Microsoft that parodied the book 1984 with the giant talking head on a TV screen being smashed by a hot chick in shorts? Soccer Goalie Paul Robinson Scores an Amazing Goal 80 Yards Away Against Watford

In a truly amazing moment in football (or soccer to us Yankees), Paul Robinson managed to score a goal from 80 yards away, more than half-way across the field. This Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper drilled a free kick over the opposing goalie's head and into the net. Watching the clip reminded us of how rewarding it is to play foosball with a 10 year old. Robinson felt pretty good about it, telling Sky Sports News "It was a bit of a freak really. All I had on my mind was putting it up there for our strikers to get on the end of.... It's a great feeling to score a goal, one that as a goalkeeper I thought I would never have."

Speeding and aggressive drivers in Orange County needed more than the luck of the Irish to avoid a traffic citation on Thursday.
An Orange County sheriff's deputy dressed as a leprechaun and equipped with a laser speed-detection gun targeted speeding and reckless motorists in the area of University Boulevard and state Road 417.
The "leprechaun" also held a sign reading, "Watch your speed or it will cost you your pot of gold."
Motorcycle units stopped violators and issued the traffic citations after being informed by the "leprechaun" via radio. Officials said they issued about a ticket per minute.
A lot of the drivers complained about the method, calling it entrapment
"I think that's just ridiculous," a deputy said. "The (leprechaun) didn't force anybody to speed."
Orange County sheriff's deputies said the laser gun enabled the on-duty "leprechaun" to clock a vehicle long before the driver would see him.
In the past, Orange County sheriff's deputies have targeted speeding motorists while dressed as an elf, the Grinch and a man waiting for a bus.
"We do this sort of thing a lot on holidays," Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Solomons said.

Andy Hurdman and his buddies noticed some sharks while they were kite-boarding. They decided they wanted to catch one of them. So, they jumped in a kayak hooked one of the sharks and brought it to shore.

As you can see, the shark clamped down on Gregory Kuehlewind’s hand. On-lookers managed to quickly pry open the shark’s mouth with the handle of a net.
Meanwhile, Jim Hefferan caught the whole thing on tape. Kuehlewind says he still cringes when he sees the video of the shark biting him.

Nose Landing of Japanese Bombardier DHC-8 in Osaka - Crew of All Nippon Airways (ANA) couldn't get nosegear down

An All Nippon Airways (ANA) plane carrying 56 passengers and four crew landed safely at Kochi Airport in southern Japan on Tuesday after its nose gear failed to descend, live TV footage showed.
The plane landed on its rear wheels and progressed down the runway before the nose touched down and some sparks flew. Fire trucks then sprayed the plane with water.
Passengers disembarked through the cabin door, many carrying hand luggage, and boarded a bus for the airport terminal. A Transport Ministry official said there were no injuries.

Mugging of 101-year-old NYC Woman Caught on Tape

There's low and then there's low, and then there's this guy who mugged two very elderly women, one 101 years old. And he got all of about $75. Now there's a master criminal for you. Fortunately (or unfortunately for him) one of his attacks was caught on a security camera. Here's more on this nasty story from CBS News:

A New York City mugger attacked a 101-year-old woman, punched her in the face and knocked her over before making off with her handbag, according to police and a security-camera video.
Shortly afterward, the same suspect victimized an 85-year-old woman, also using a walker, police said Friday as they pressed the public for tips that could identify him.
The attacks took place in separate buildings in the Jamaica section of Queens last Sunday. The suspect, a black male in his 30s, is wanted in a string of neighborhood robberies.
Rose Morat, 101 years old, was assaulted in her apartment building's lobby around 12:30 p.m. The suspect, who pulled a ski mask down over his face, was seen in security-camera footage opening the door for Morat before throwing a flurry of punches at her as she steadies herself against her walker.
"I was not unconscious, but I was startled, and I thought: What happened?" said Morat. The suspect appeared to spit on his victim as he made off with her pocketbook.
About a half-hour later, 85-year-old Solange Elizee was assaulted outside her apartment a half-mile from Morat's. Police said the suspect followed her on an elevator and got out on a different floor from hers, but then ran up the stairs and confronted her at her apartment door.

A 47-year-old Augusta man is in jail after driving his sport utility vehicle through Augusta Mall and fighting with a Richmond County sheriff's deputy Wednesday night, according to Lt. Tony Walden.
Stephen Scott Lowe, of 1109 Sadie Drive, is charged with criminal damage to property in the first degree, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer and driving under the influence.
Police said he rammed the locked doors on the eastern side of the mall near the American Cafe with his SUV and drove across almost the entire second floor of the mall.
He was boxed in by deputies as he broke a second set of doors near the food court and proceeded to punch and elbow a sheriff's deputy before being subdued with pepper spray and a baton, a sheriff's report said.

The video clip captures all of it, including the beat down cops had to give him to get him to surrender. He looks like one big dude in the video, doesn't he?

Islanders forward Chris Simon was informed late this afternoon that his disciplinary hearing stemming from an incident in which he clubbed Ranger forward Ryan Hollweg Thursday night has been scheduled by the NHL for Saturday.
At the moment, it is uncertain whether the hearing will be held at NHL headquarters in Toronto or the league offices in New York. Earlier today, the NHL suspended Simon indefinitely without pay pending the hearing.

Texas Deposition Disaster - Woman attacks lawyers and judge

What a mess! So much for the American legal system. This clip is from a deposition in a Texas courtroom where the deponents lose control and swear at the lawyers and attack the cameraman and end up injuring their mother with a light stand falling on her head. One of the guys in the room appears to have a stocking over his face.

South Park Uses the N-Word - Season 11 Premiere, Wheel of Fortune Parody

Oh no they didn't! Oh yes they did! The guys behind South Park and the brains at Comedy Central have gone and done it now. One of the lead characters, Randy, has to solve a puzzle on the TV game show "Wheel of Fortune." The clue is "people who annoy you" and Randy is able to spell out all but one letter N-*-G-G-E-R-S and he should have put an A in there instead of an I in there.

This is video of the recent Garuda Airlines Boeing 737-400 crash. This footage appears to be slightly different from what we posted earlier and has a Dutch narration to it, so likely it was broadcast somewhere. Here's more from KUNA:

Indonesian and Australian police are examining parts of the Indonesian Garuda Airlines plane that overshot the runway on Wednesday and burst into flames.
Local reports said Friday forensic experts continued to try to identify bodies of victims which had been charred beyond recognition, as official numbers placed the number of casualties at 21 out of the 133 passengers and seven crew members who were on board.
The Garuda Boeing 737-400 jetliner was flying from Jakarta to Yogyakarta when it overshot the Yogyakarta's Adisutjipto airport runway at about 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Teen Kicked Out of K-Mart 3 Times for Riding Handicap Scooter in Store

We've had a lot of serious video clips on the site this week, so we thought we'd lighten things up a little bit with this clip from Break.com. In it, a teen aged boy and his friends decide to have a little fun with the staff at a local K-Mart store. While one boy climbs into one of those handicapped scooters you see in retail stores and motors around, a friend videotapes store employees following him and desperately asking him to get out of it. Not once, but three times over an 8 month period and while it shouldn't make you laugh, it does.
So what are the rules for riding one of those things? How handicapped do you have to be? Can you just be really, really tired? What if you just got over a nasty bout of stomach flu? Check it out below.

Tracy Morgan's Bizarre Interview on Texas Show

Fresh off of his hit NBC show 30 Rock and his recent plea in his DUI case, former SNL cast mate Tracy Morgan showed up on ABC 7 out of El Paso, Texas to do an interview to promote for his local stand-up appearance. We're not sure if he was wasted, drunk, crazy, or a combination of the three but he managed to take his shirt off and go completely into Cuckoo Paula Abdul territory. We're sure some producer got screamed at for not cutting to commercial. You have to watch it for yourself.

Camera Captures Tornado Racing Through Hospital - Incredible Video

The storms marched through the Southern United States recently spawned a number of tornandoes . . . but rarely has been one caught like this tearing through a hospital. More on the story from WOAI:

Surveillance video captured a tornado in Americus, Georgia as it approached and swept through a hospital. Power lines arched, and eventually wind, rain and debris rushed past cameras inside the hospital's hallways.
"The building was shaking and everything was rattling everything in the room. And I just prayed man. I called on the Lord, and God kept us and protected us," said Michael Coley, who was inside the hospital when the tornado hit.
Coley protected his family as the storm rushed into his daughter Yolanda's room.
"We kind of hovered over each other in the corner, as you can see where the bathroom was. That's the only thing that protected us, was the corner there. Because everything in that room started, I mean the window, glass and everything was flying," Coley said.
A patient at the hospital had a real 'close call.' During the tornado, a 2x4 board flew into the room from somewhere else in the neighborhood was left protruding from the wall right over the hospital bed.

Burnout Dominator Trailer - EA Video Game sneak preview, review

Not sure why, but this sneak preview of a video game from EA called Burnout Dominator, has been very popular on YouTube this week. Looks like any other car race game to me. Here's a review of the game from IGN:

Burnout Dominator is quite clearly a throwback to the old days of the series. Its focus has returned almost solely to racing, what with things like traffic checking that we saw in Burnout Revenge having been removed from the game. Burnouts are back, encouraging you to keep your finger on the boost at all times, and the track design is geared more for long and huge drifts rather than Takedowns.
In essence, Burnout Dominator feels a lot like an offshoot of the past few games rather than a revolutionary sequel, as Criterion has generally attempted to create in the past. EA UK made use of the Burnout Revenge engine for Dominator, and the (happy) result is that the game feels and looks almost identical to the last game, sans the major gameplay changes. But at its core, this is classic Burnout through and through.

Pouring Coke on Raw Pork Draws Out Worms? Hoax or Real?

A video appeared earlier this week on YouTube that appeared to show (with some judicious editing) that when you pour Coke on raw pork and let it sit for a few minutes, it will draw out the worms in the meat. Click here to see the original video.

Since then, several people have posted rebuttal videos, clearly showing that the original was, indeed, a hoax . . . although the people at the Pork Producers Association were probably getting a little nervous there for a while. Brawl Breaks Out at End of Soccer Game, Fans Still Bored -

Soccer officials are looking into the Champions League post-match brawl between Valencia and Inter Milan earlier this week. According to reports, as the tie game ended Valencia's David Navarro (a substitute player) ran out onto the field and punched Milan's Nicolas Burdisso and punched him in the nose. Several Milan players then jumped in and the whole field turned into a giant free-for-all. Watch the video below. (BBC)

Indonesian Jet Crash, Moments After Impact - Raw video - Garuda Airlines Flight GA-200 Boeing 737-400

If you ever wondered what it would be like to barely survive an airplane crash, this video will give you some idea. A cameramen aboard the Garuda Airlines Boeing 737-400 took this footage within minutes after the crash. The fuselage is burning already but is still more or less intact. People can be seen running from the scene.
As the fire gets bigger you can hear more and more small explosions from exploding chemical oxygen generators (located above the passengers seats for use in decompression). This clip from LiveLeak.com might be a little too intense for some viewers, although the cameraman wisely keeps his distance from the wreckage.

Couple Sought in Brawl at Skating Rink in Shreveport, La

The woman's new boyfriend eventually stepped in and started attacking the ex-boyfriend, police said.
Police have not released the suspects' names.

Rally Car Runs Over Bystanders in Romania

This one looks like it's gotta hurt! During a recent Road Rally in Romania, a Rally car slid off the course while going into a sharp turn and crashed into the crowd of bystanders. No word on if anyone was hurt but it looked more like human bowling than racing to us.

Mighty Mo Knocks Out Hong-Man Choi a 7' 2" Korean Kickboxer

This guy is huge! Hong-Man Choi is listed at 7 feet 2 inches tall and reportedly weighs 364 lbs . . . and he's a kickboxer! Here's more from Wikipedia:

Choi, Hong-man (South Korean born on October 30, 1980) is a Korean kickboxer and former ssirum wrestler. He currently competes in K-1. He debuted in K-1 fighting at the World GP 2005 event in Seoul in March, 2005, which he won in the final vs. Kaoklai Kaennorsing. Choi Hong Man's only losses came via judges' decision against Remy Bonjasky and Jérome Le Banner.

His only losses . . . until this week, when a guy named Mighty Mo is not impressed with his size and manages to land a blow to the head, putting the blond giant to the canvas. There's some good early action in this clip, then you have to wait until close to the end for the knockout . . . but it's worth it. Kind of like watching Mike Tyson fight Andre the Giant in their primes.

Gerald Henderson Breaks Tyler Hansbrough's Nose

North Carolina's men's basketball team celebrated their win over Duke this weekend. But instead of focusing on the win over the Blue Devils, everyone was talking about the elbow to Tyler Hansbrough's nose, with what some are calling a 'cheap shot' from Duke's Gerald Henderon after a rebound shuffle. Hansbrough emerged with a bloody and broken nose. Here's what ESPN.com had to say:

Hansbrough had his nose broken after pulling down the rebound of his own missed free throw and going back up for a layup. Henderson leaped to block the shot and after the ball left Hansbrough's hand, Henderson's right elbow appeared to strike the Tar Heels' center in the nose, sending him crumpling to the ground.

Blood poured down Hansbrough's face and onto his lip, his chin and the court, and he had to be restrained from the Blue Devils as he went to the locker room. Henderson was ejected and received an automatic one-game suspension for Duke's ACC tournament opener against North Carolina State.

Teen Teaches Children How to Smoke Pot - 2- and 5-year-old nephews

From our "Now We've Seen Everything Files." A Texas teenager is in trouble with the law after cops found a videotape of him teaching his young nephews how to smoke weed. Here's more from YouTube:

A 17-year-old faces a felony charge of injury to a child after police found a videotape that appears to show him and another man teaching his 2- and 5-year-old nephews to smoke marijuana, police said.
The video shows two children being taught to smoke marijuana and the men encouraging them to "get high," police said. A man can be seen placing a marijuana cigarette into a baby's mouth and, in another part of the video, a different boy is shown smoking on his own.
"The video contains disturbing images of the young children being badgered into smoking a marijuana cigar, commonly referred to as a 'blunt,'" according to a release from the Watauga Department of Public Safety.

Janssen's Cheap Shot on Kaberle - Hockey Hit of the Week (New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs)

Hockey is a violent sport, but it's also a sport with some rules. And one of those rules is that if you body check someone they have to have the puck in their possession. Also, you don't slam your shoulder into another guy's head when he's not looking. That's what happened Friday night between the Devils and Maple Leafs and it left Tomas Kaberle out cold on the ice. Most viewers thought it was a late, dirty hit by Cam Janssen. More from the Toronto Star:

New Jersey Devil Cam Janssen received a three-game suspension yesterday for a brutal, blindside hit to the head of Maple Leaf Tomas Kaberle but he'll likely be back playing before his victim.
Kaberle returned to Toronto yesterday after spending the night in a Jersey hospital and he was in the dressing room during the Leafs' game against the Sabres last night.
Janssen took four strides and about two seconds elapsed before the Devils winger slammed his shoulder in to the head of an unsuspecting Kaberle, who then sprawled head first into the boards. Kaberle lay unconscious for more than a minute.
"It's as bad a hit as I've seen in a long, long time, with resulting injury," said Toronto GM John Ferguson. "This was clearly a decision that Mr. Janssen made and he chose to exert maximum force on a player who was unsuspecting, long after the play had passed – clearly an intent to injure." Kaberle has a concussion, back spasms and neck spasms and Ferguson said he is out indefinitely. The guessing is he will be absent for about 10 days.

Terrier Puppies Stolen at Gunpoint - Caught on Security Camera (Yorkies)

Note to self: next time you have four Yorkshire Terrier puppies to sell, and list them for $2,500 a piece in the paper, expect that someone MIGHT try to rob you. That's what happened to a Los Angeles family earlier this week and it was all caught on the home's security camera. More from the AP:

Four purebred Yorkshire terriers stolen at gunpoint during a home invasion robbery more than a week ago were returned to their owners after a man turned himself in to police.
Three puppies, valued at $2,500 each, and a full-grown family pet named Tan-ja were reunited with their owners at the Wilshire Division police station Saturday night.
One puppy remained missing, police said.
Family members hugged and kissed the panting pups and left the police station with the dogs in their arms.
The animals were recovered after Ryan Betton, 19, of Los Angeles, surrendered to police Friday night, Detective Luis Corona said.
He was booked for investigation of residential robbery, police said.

Oops! Conservative radio and TV talk show host Glenn Beck may have stepped in it when he tried to make a joke about the prevalence of naked photos on the Internet. Here's more about the incident from Media Matters:

On the February 28 edition of his CNN Headline News program, Glenn Beck once again made sexually suggestive comments toward a woman when he hosted US Weekly's Dina Sansing to discuss racy photographs of American Idol contestant Antonella Barba. After Beck claimed that "[y]ou can't take stupid photos and expect those to be ... locked away forever," Sansing responded that it was "possibly" true and that "it depends." As the weblog Crooks and Liars noted, Beck then asked: "Dina, I've got some time and a camera. Why don't you stop by?" Sansing did not respond and, after several seconds of silence, Beck stated: "No? OK." As Media Matters for America has noted (here, here, and here), in each of the first three episodes of his CNN Headline News show in May 2006, Beck made sexually suggestive comments to CNN Headline News anchor Erica Hill, who was then giving daily news updates on Beck's show. Hill no longer appears on Beck's program.

Then yesterday, Beck was given the day's "Worst Person" award by fellow cable talker Keith Olbermann on MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann." UFC Chuck Liddell Falls Asleep During Interview on "Good Morning Texas "

By now, most people know what "ultimate fighting" is: a cross between bad kung fu movies, boxing and pro wrestling where the winner either knocks his opponent out or pins him in such a way that he submits. The current Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight title holder, Chuck Liddell, was in Dallas this week on behalf of Warner Bros. pictures to help promote the release of "300," the new "Spartan" combat movie. He wasn't exactly a big talker. In fact, at least once during the segment he seems to either fall asleep or pass out. More from the interviewer, Gary Cogill at WFAA-TV:

We were in the middle of a two-minute commercial break. I looked at him, and found he could barely communicate. Liddell looked shaky (at best) and could barely open his eyes.
"Is he ill? Does he need medicine?" I wondered.
With all these things are going through my head, I turned around and looked at co-host Brenda Teele about 20 seconds before we went live on the air and rolled my eyes, meaning: "Oh, my God; this could be difficult."

As I introduced Chuck Liddell and asked the first question, his answers were almost too distorted to understand. I needed an interpreter.
