Donroy Merrival Bites Off the Nose of Matthew Osing During Fight in Iowa City

It's so nice when friends can argue over something and only one of them loses their nose? Apparently Donroy Merrival just couldn't get past an alcohol-fueled argument between him and his friend Matthew Osing. Here's the scoop on this pirate-like fight.

Donroy Merrival was charged Tuesday with willful injury stemming from the July 24 fight. He also faced charges in an unrelated incident a couple of days later.

Authorities said he was drinking with another man when they started arguing and the other man hit him with a shovel. They say Merrival responded by biting off the man's nose and part of his lip.

"He's a heavy drinker and sometimes when he drinks he changes and gets real nasty," the injured man, Matthew Osing, told KCRG-TV.

He acknowledged hitting Merrival with a shovel, saying, "He was crouched down ready to pounce on me and he was scaring me. ... He jumped up and grabbed me by my face and grabbed my nose and bit it off." The nose was not recovered but police say Merrival didn't think he swallowed it.

"I don't know if he swallowed it or if my dogs might have eaten it, I don't know," Osing said. Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment. Police Sgt. Troy Kelsay said the victim was not justified in hitting Merrival with a shovel in the first place and it is possible more charges could be filed.

Man is Stabbed and Decapitated on Greyhound Bus in Canada

Riding across country with your fellow weirdos on a Greyhound has never seemed more horrific. According to several reports, the young man was sleeping and the attack was unprovoked. Here's what happened:

The man was arrested for the killing, which occurred Wednesday night aboard a bus traveling from Edmonton, Alberta, to Winnipeg, Manitoba, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a statement.

Authorities declined to name the attacker and victim, and provided no other details about the attack.

But passenger Garnet Caton said the victim was stabbed dozens of times by the man sitting next to him. The passenger then severed the man's head with a large knife

NYC Officer Patrick Pogan Stripped of Badge and Gun After Tackling Bicyclist During Time Square Demonstration

New York City Officer Patrick Pogan has some explaining to do! In this video, the 22 year old officer is shown body checking bicyclist Christopher Long during a protest in Times Square called the Critical Mass Ride. To add insult to injury, Long was arrested right after being hit off his bike for attempted assault in the third degree, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The officer claims that Long purposely swerved his bicycle to block traffic and then using it as a weapon to run down the officer, knocking him off his feet and causing a "laceration" on his forearm. There was a scary moment on Qantas flight 30 from London to Australia. The flight lost cabin pressure at about 30,000.

Qantas flight 30 cruised at 29,000ft above the South China Sea on the last leg of its long journey from London to Australia. Weary passengers were dozing or watching the in-flight entertainment and counting down the hours till they landed in Melbourne when there was what one described as an "incredible boom". A rush of air swept through the cabin, sending debris and passengers' belongings flying.

Some people began crying, oxygen masks dropped from the ceiling and the plane lurched downwards after the pilot, John Bartels, put it into an emergency descent, plunging 20,000ft in an attempt to deal with the sudden depressurisation. "It was absolutely terrifying," said one passenger, June Kane. "Everyone thought the plane would disintegrate."

After a few minutes the jumbo jet levelled out. Footage taken by a passenger on a mobile phone shows those on board sitting in tense silence as they braced for a crash landing. The flight was diverted to Manila airport where it made an emergency landing. It was only when the aircraft was on the ground yesterday afternoon that the cause of the drama was revealed: a massive hole had ripped open the fuselage.

Passed-Out Dad Caught Behind the Wheel With Toddlers In Car - "Dave, They Are Taking the Kids!"

"Father of the Year" Finalist, anyone? Oh yeah, when you are so drunk that you pass out once you somehow get yourself, your also drunk buddy and your three little kids to the gas station, that says something. And it makes for a great police video, as well, because for some reason, they don't look kindly at drunk driving, much less DUI with small children in the vehicle. The video is below, but here's more on the story from WFTV:

David Novick, his friend and Novick's three kids managed to get to the gas station safe and sound, driving a couple blocks from his home down SR-50. He went there to buy cigarettes and passed out with his children, all under five years old, in the car.
Novick never saw the police coming. The 37-year-old Titusville man was out cold when they showed up. His three children were unbuckled in the back seat of the parked car. Police questioned whether there was something more than alcohol involved.
The single father was so out of it, not police, not a slap in the face and not even police removing his children could get him to wake up.
"Dave, they are taking the kids," Novick's friend told the passed-out dad.
When he finally did get out of the car, police said Novick failed a sobriety test and a breathalyzer indicated he had a blood alcohol level of .152, nearly twice the legal limit. He was arrested and charged with DUI, driving with a license suspended and, because there were three children in the car, three counts of child neglect.

The 17-year-old Rudy Sandoval decided to go all Chuck Norris on the robber and after a struggle, ends up punching and leaving him unconscious for several minutes. No, ever since last years Miss Universe pagent when Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith fell right on her butt that we have watched beauty pagents hoping for another contestant to fall. Our wishes were granted this year when Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart fell down during the introductions of the contestants at the Miss Universe pagent. Russian Video Camera Shows Woman Falling Through Manhole

Holy manhole Batman! This Russian TV station was covering the heavy flooding in the streets. A manhoe cover had been removed in an attempted to alleviate street flooding. It was supposed to be well marked but this woman disappeard down the hole. Her fate is unknown but we hope she is okay and will live long enough to sue the Russian government!

Jesse Jackson Caught on Fox News Blasts Barack Obama For Talking Down to Black People and Saying He Wanted to "Cut His Nuts Off"

Oh lordy. It's only July and things are going crazy with the 2008 Presidential Campaign. This nifty clip that is causing a stir are the comments of Reverend Jesse Jackson. He appeared on the Fox News Channel and prior to the interview, with his mic on, he whispered to another guest, healthcare executive Reid Tuckson, that he though Barack Obama was "talking down to Black people" in the churches and that he wanted to "cut his f*cking nuts off" while making a jabbing gesture with his hand. Ouch! An apology was quickly issued.

“I have great passion for this campaign and traveled across the country … arguing the case for the campaign,” Jackson said. “And this thing I said in a hot-mic statement that’s interpreted as a distraction, I offer apology for that. I don’t want harm or hurt to come to this campaign. It was very private and very much a sound bite -- and a live mike. And so I feel -- I find no comfort in it, I find no joy in it. So I immediately called the senator's campaign to send my statement of apology to repair the harm or hurt that this may have caused his campaign, because I support it unequivocally."”

Another Spears woman was brought into this world last month by Britney Spears' little sister, and former Nickelodeon kids stars, Jamie Lynn with all of her 17 years of wisdom became a mom. Her fiance Casey Aldrige is the father of little girl Maddie Briann and the entire family has been featured in this week's issue of OK! magazine. Another Video Surfaces of A Woman Dying in Emergency Waiting Room

This video was recently sent to the LA Time anonymously of Edith Rodriguez falling out of her chair in the waiting room of an ER. It appears that she was ignored by staff and her husband and a witness called 911 but were told it wasn't an emergency. She reportedly died from a perforated bowel after writing around unattended for 45 minutes on the lobby of the floor of the King-Harbor emergency room.

Semi Slams into Subway Restaurant in Minnesota

Fallen Woman Ignored in New York Emergency Room and Left to Die

Here's some shocking video of a woman in the psychiatric emergency room at Kings County Hospital who waited more than 24 hours and then fell on the floor, unnoticed, and died an hour later. Several security guards and a doctor are shown on this security video glancing at her on the floor and do nothing. Scary video people.
